About Douglas Horne
Douglas Horne was elected as the first Member of the Legislative Assembly for Coquitlam - Burke Mountain on May 12, 2009. He has been active in politics for many years.

Along with his wife Larissa and their two children, Doug has have lived in Coquitlam on Westwood Plateau for over 10 years. Larissa is also very active in the community, including being a member of the Coquitlam Rotary Club and acting as one of the founding Directors of the Westwood Plateau Community Association.

On the professional front, until his decision to enter politics, Doug was Managing Director – Corporate and C.E.O. of Maple Leaf Studios Ltd., a leading international design and production studio, creating innovative and engaging experiences for international themed attractions, world fairs and Expos, visitor centres, and destination resorts. Recently, Maple Leaf Studios designed the resort and retail entertainment complex that was included as the Athletes Village and Media/Broadcast Centre for Russia’s successful 2014 Winter Olympic Bid for Sochi on the Black Sea. Doug was also instrumental in the success of British Columbia-Canada Place, in Torino, Italy, built to promote the Province of B.C. and VANOC during the 2006 Winter Olympics.
